This little elf was drawn by children's book illustrator, Arthur Rackham (English, 1867-1939). Rackham is, by far, the main source of inspiration for Jill's work.
With his hobgoblins, fairies and anthropomorphic trees, Arthur Rackham "...has affected childhood vision and imagination for four generations. Writers, artists, film-makers and even advertisers have expressed this influence through their work..."

"Arthur Rackham's remarkable illustrations for such works as The Wind in the Willows, Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, Alice in Wonderland, Rip Van Winkle and A Midsummer Night's Dream have attained the classic status of the writings themselves, but Rackham the man has remained a shadowy figure, half-glimpsed and nearly as insubstantial as the fairies and gnomes that inhabit many of his pictures." ~ From "Arthur Rackham,
A Biography" by James Hamilton, 1990.
